At our Hexham-based clinic, we are proud to be led by Sara Mather, an experienced Extended Scope Physiotherapist (ESP) offering expert care for musculoskeletal conditions, injuries, and chronic pain. With a strong commitment to evidence-based practice and patient-centred care, Sara works with people of all ages to restore movement, reduce pain, and improve quality of life.

What is Physiotherapy?

Physiotherapy is a science-based profession that takes a holistic approach to health and wellbeing. It focuses on restoring normal movement and function when someone is affected by injury, illness, or disability. Treatment may include:

  • Hands-on manual therapy
  • Tailored exercise programs
  • Pain management strategies
  • Education and advice
  • Post-surgical rehabilitation

Physiotherapy is not just about recovery — it’s about empowering you to take control of your health and stay active for life.

Who is Sara Mather?

Sara Mather is a fully qualified and HCPC-registered Extended Scope Physiotherapist, with advanced training and over [insert years of experience, if known] years of clinical practice. Her specialist role means she is qualified to:

  • Diagnose complex musculoskeletal conditions
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as X-rays or MRIs
  • Administer joint and soft tissue injections
  • Develop comprehensive rehabilitation plans
  • Refer to orthopaedic specialists or other services if needed

Sara brings a deep understanding of how the body moves — and what’s needed to get it moving well again. Her patients appreciate her approachable nature, clear explanations, and evidence-led approach to care.

Our clients say…

    Jessica
  • I can highly recommend InSync physio! My husband and I have both found Sara gets to the bottom of our problems and helps us understand the best pathway to recovery. With treatment in the clinic and the easy to follow exercises she prescribes we have both been surprised at the speed of our recovery.

    Barbara
  • Absolutely brilliant Physio!!!. Wouldn’t use anyone else. Sara has helped me so much with the injuries I have had – and quickly resolved! One is a physical knee cartilage tear which she diagnosed immediately and referred me on to an excellent consultant as more intervention was needed.
She doesn’t con you with packages of appointments either – Can’t praise her highly enough!

InSync FAQs

Have a question?

An Extended Scope Physiotherapist (ESP) has advanced clinical training that goes beyond traditional physiotherapy. Sara Mather, our lead ESP, can diagnose complex musculoskeletal issues, order scans like MRIs, perform joint injections, and refer directly to specialists — helping you access the right care faster.

Your first session includes a detailed discussion about your symptoms, lifestyle, and goals, followed by a physical assessment. Sara will explain your diagnosis clearly and outline a treatment plan, which may involve hands-on therapy, exercises, or onward referral if needed.

No referral is needed! You can contact us directly to arrange an appointment. However, if you’re using private health insurance, check with your provider in case they require one.

We treat a wide range of issues, including sports injuries, joint pain, post-surgical recovery, chronic pain, and mobility problems. Our team tailors each treatment plan to your specific needs and goals.
